A new exhibition spotlighting company towns will be on display at the Mill. It shows how some companies in this country went about planning communities that became truly cutting-edge model towns! Visitors will discover how big companies were able to create living environments that were the dream of their employees and their families. This exhibition has been developed by the Société d’histoire du Lac-Saint-Jean and its museum, the Odyssée des Bâtisseurs, in partnership with the Chaire de recherche du Canada en patrimoine urbain, and with support from the governments of Canada and Quebec, and from the Ville d'Alma.
This project has been made possible by the Government of Canada.
Theatrical animation, the heart of our tourist experience, is back in full force with the entire animation team, and with the return of gatherings at the general store and classes at the convent-school. A number of short performance will also take place at the centre of town.

There's more! Val-Jalbert is reopening its butcher shop! Visitors will now be able to learn all about the history and operation of this building as it was a century ago.
Finally, due to high demand from campers last summer, Val-Jalbert has decided to extend its camping season to October 10th.
14 high-end lodgings, on the promontory at the entry to the Village, and with views on Lac Saint-Jean, will provide a new and distinctive kind of accommodation. Thanks to a glass wall, each lodging features a stunning view overlooking the lake. These dwellings are a great addition to the other types of accommodation already available at Val-Jalbert. These include hotel rooms (24 units), camping sites (188 sites), and ready-to-camp mini-cottages (15 units).
